“to be conformed to the likeness of [God’s] Son” (Rom. 8:29). But in this verse, the “conformation” is of a different sort than the “conformation” to the world that we are warned against in our present verse. We are warned against being shaped into (suschematizo) the patterns and schemes of the world, system in which we live. On the other hand, Paul says that we are being “made like” Christ.
